A new exhibition has landed at So Studio Amsterdam. Currently on show: the work of Dutch artist Jan Kuhlemeier.
Kuhlemeier’s work sits somewhere between painting and material exploration. Playing with colour, light and movement, he builds his works through layers of pigment and gel mediums, creating surfaces that shift depending on where you stand and how the light hits them.
Inspired by the constantly changing colours and reflections found in the world around him, Kuhlemeier translates fleeting moments into abstract works that invite you to look a little longer. Transparent in one moment, intense and textured in the next.
For now, his exploration of colour and light has found a new setting on the walls of So Studio Amsterdam.
